The Brand
Tiensuu Studio is a design-driven practice rooted in material sensibility and spatial identity. From our base on Bornholm, we work internationally across interiors, concept development and curated sourcing.
Our foundation is intuitive, but our process is structured.
We design with intention – shaped by experience, a global outlook and a commitment to character over trends.
Each project begins with a place, a purpose, and the people who inhabit it.
We curate rooms that respond to their surroundings – not just stylistically, but atmospherically. Composition, proportion and texture are always in play.
Beyond interiors, we select objects with presence: handmade ceramics from Eastern Europe, vintage pieces from Bali, and bespoke furniture by female designers around the world.
Tiensuu Studio was founded in 2024. We collaborate with both private and commercial clients on design-led, detail-focused projects that stand the test of time.
The Designer
Mette Tiensuu is the founder and lead designer of Tiensuu Studio. With two decades of experience shaping visual identities and spatial concepts for companies and clients, she brings both creative depth and commercial clarity to every project.
She has overseen the renovation of thousands of square metres and draws on inspiration from hundreds of hotels and spaces around the world. Her design language is shaped by experience, not trends.
Previously, Mette was the founder, designer and co-owner of The Falcon Hotel, selected by The Times in 2023 as one of Europe’s Best New Beach Hotels.
At Tiensuu Studio, she is behind every detail – from concept and interior direction to sourcing and creative partnerships. Her work spans continents: from humble workshops in Bali to old-world ceramics studios in Hungary, she seeks out the objects and materials that lend each project its distinct tone.
With a background in both business and aesthetics, she balances structure with intuition – and has created a studio that prioritises atmosphere, character and soul over trends or designnames

Tiensuu Studio is a store, a showroom and a creative workspace.
Here, you'll find carefully sourced interior treasures – from antique jars and timeworn furniture to textiles, ceramics and distinctive objects with character. Every piece is handpicked by Mette Tiensuu on sourcing journeys through Bali, Java, Eastern Europe and Morocco.
Alongside unique finds, we also stock a selection of carefully chosen Danish brands – from interior details to practical essentials. Most items can be ordered specifically for your needs, and we’re happy to help you find just the right piece for your space.

We also carry selected brands within paint, wallpaper, mouldings and stone veneer – and assist with material combinations for your renovation or new build.
